Hey guys, My name is Kelsey Bauer and I am a Dietetics major at University of Kentucky. My passion for all things food started at a very early age. However, I wasn’t always eating roasted veggies and smoothies. My four major food groups were high fructose corn syrup, carbs, artificial flavors, and processed cheese. The naive and uneducated little girl in me thought I could continue eating like this and never face any consequences. Little did I know, I was SOOOOOOO wrong! In high school, I gained a ton of weight. I mean….a TON of weight. By the end of my senior year, I went from 120 pounds to 180. Growing up in a family that always ate healthy, I resented it and rebelled against it. My mom told me all along that my terrible eating would catch up to me but I didn’t listen. (classic teenager). Note to self: Mom knows all! I came to the realization by myself that I needed to make a big change in my life. Looking in the mirror and seeing my bloated image was enough to ignite a fire inside me. Fast forward to now– Life in the good food lane is the best choice I’ve ever made. I cant stress enough that taking care of your body is one of the most important things you can do. The power of nutrition is real and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I still enjoy all things food, but in a very different way. I hope this site will inspire you to treat your body well and show you that you can still eat delicious things :)
